Basem Farag, M.D

Basem Farag was born in Egypt, but was raised in New Jersey. As a 2nd generation Physician, Basem grew up seeing trust and respect as the primary foundation of patient care. As a child, he learned that these two values can be practiced in many ways. Whether it was being a good listener or building rapport in a preferred language, treating patients with patience and kindness is a mark of a great physician.

Inspired by his father’s dedication, Basem decided to be a physician as well. He received his Bachelor’s in Life Science from New York Institute of Technology. In 1995, Basem graduated Medical School from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Soon after, he moved to California and has built his life here.

For 20+ years, Dr. Farag has practiced Family Medicine in both urgent and private care settings. He prefers private practice, as he feels more connected to his patients by seeing them on a regular basis. Here at Orangecrest, Dr. Farag strives everyday to fulfill his childhood values that he learned long ago. By allowing his patients to take time explaining their concerns, he is able to be more attentive and responsive to their care. He is honored by the privilege it is to be their physician, so he takes care of their medical needs “just as I would my own or of my close family and friends.” For these reasons, Dr. Farag’s expertise is highly valued amongst his patients, especially those who speak Arabic.
